Working Principle
A two-phase or multiphase mixture (e.g., liquid-liquid, liquid-solid, or liquid-gas) with a specific density difference is introduced tangentially into the cyclone at a constant pressure, generating a high-speed rotating flow field within the cylindrical chamber. The denser component in the mixture moves simultaneously downward axially and radially outward under the influence of the cyclonic flow field. Upon reaching the conical section, it moves downward along the wall and is discharged through the underflow outlet, forming an external vortex flow field. The less dense component moves toward the central axis, forming an upward-moving internal vortex at the center of the axis, and is discharged through the overflow outlet, thus achieving two-phase separation.
Features
1.High Separation Precision: The small-diameter cyclone can effectively classify and desludify fine-grained minerals, achieving extremely fine separation. It is suitable for processing non-metallic minerals with high particle size requirements, such as the ultra-fine classification of kaolin, and can meet the fineness requirements of coating-grade kaolin in industries such as papermaking. Simple and Compact Structure: Featuring a small size and minimal footprint, it is easy to install, operate, and transport. The lack of complex moving parts reduces the likelihood of equipment failure and reduces maintenance costs.
2.Flexible Processing Capacity: While the processing capacity of a single small-diameter cyclone is relatively small, multiple units can be connected in parallel or series to meet the needs of varying production scales, improving classification efficiency and processing capacity.
3.Various Wear-Resistant Materials: To meet the wear resistance requirements of different non-metallic mineral materials and operating conditions, small-diameter cyclones are typically available in a variety of materials, such as polyurethane, mild steel shell with polyurethane lining, and mild steel shell with wear-resistant Ceramic Lining, effectively extending the service life of the equipment.

Applications
Kaolin Processing: Used in the beneficiation and processing of kaolin, it is used for ultra-fine classification to produce kaolin products that meet the needs of industries such as papermaking and coatings, thereby improving the quality and added value of kaolin.
Bentonite Processing: Bentonite is graded, sorted, and concentrated and dehydrated to remove impurities, improve the purity and properties of bentonite, and meet the application requirements of various industries. Feldspar Processing: Used for grinding and grading feldspar to achieve an appropriate particle size distribution, improving feldspar utilization efficiency and meeting the particle size requirements of feldspar raw materials in the ceramics and glass industries.
Other Non-metallic Minerals: Can also be used in the processing of other non-metallic minerals such as wollastonite, talc, and mica, achieving mineral grading, sorting, concentration, and dehydration, thereby improving the quality and value of non-metallic mineral products.
Selection Considerations
Processing Capacity: Determine the number and specifications of small-diameter cyclones required based on production scale and processing capacity requirements. Multiple cyclones can be connected in parallel or in series to meet processing capacity requirements.
Separation Particle Size: Select a cyclone model that can achieve the target separation particle size based on the particle size characteristics of the non-metallic mineral material and process requirements. Small-diameter cyclones are generally suitable for separating fine-grained minerals.
Material Properties: Consider material properties such as density, viscosity, and concentration. For example, for materials with high viscosity, the appropriate structure and material may be required to ensure proper cyclone operation and separation effectiveness. Process requirements: Combined with the specific process flow and process index requirements, such as classification efficiency, recovery rate, etc., select a cyclone that can meet the process requirements. For example, in the ultra-fine classification of kaolin, the use of dispersants, slurry pressure and concentration and other parameters that affect the classification index should be considered.
