Alumina ceramic mosaic lined pipe is a composite pipe lined with alumina ceramic mosaic sheets bonded or fixed to the inner wall of the pipe to improve its wear and corrosion resistance.
Structure and Composition
· Ceramic mosaic sheets: Generally made of alumina with varying purity levels, such as 92% and 95%, they are commonly shaped in square and hexagonal shapes, although other specialized shapes are also available. They have a Rockwell hardness of HRA80-90 or higher, second only to diamond, and offer excellent wear resistance.
· Adhesive Materials: Depending on the operating conditions, high-temperature-resistant silicone adhesives or epoxy adhesives suitable for wear-resistant slurry environments can be used to securely adhere the ceramic mosaic sheets to the inner wall of the pipe. Some pipes can also be mechanically secured by welding or bolting.
· Outer Pipe: Typically made of carbon steel, such as Q235 steel pipe, these provide strength and toughness to meet the actual pressure-bearing and installation requirements of the project.
Performance Characteristics
· High Wear Resistance: Alumina ceramic mosaics have extremely high wear resistance, dozens of times or even higher than that of manganese steel. They effectively resist erosion and wear from media such as granular materials and slurries, significantly extending the service life of pipelines.
· Corrosion Resistance: They offer excellent corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, strong alkalis, and salts, making them suitable for conveying various corrosive media and protecting steel pipes from corrosion.
· High Temperature Resistance: Some ceramic mosaic liners can withstand long-term use at temperatures around 350°C without aging. Some specially formulated Alumina ceramics can even withstand higher temperatures, meeting the requirements of high-temperature operating conditions.
· Anti-scaling: The ceramic surface is smooth and has low roughness, making it less susceptible to adhesion and anti-scaling properties. This ensures smooth flow of media within the pipeline and reduces blockages caused by scaling.
· Easy Installation: Ceramic mosaic tiles can be cut and spliced to fit the pipe's inner diameter, allowing for flexible installation. Their lightweight design reduces installation difficulty and labor intensity.
Manufacturing Process
The primary method is the gluing process. The inner wall of the steel pipe is first treated with rust removal and polishing. Then, according to design requirements, alumina ceramic mosaic tiles are glued to the inner wall of the pipe using a specialized adhesive in a specific arrangement. After curing, a durable Ceramic Lining is formed.
Applications
This product is widely used in heavily worn pipelines such as coal transportation, material handling, pulverizing, ash removal, and dust removal systems in thermal power, steel, smelting, machinery, coal, mining, chemical, cement, and port terminals. These include coal mine pipelines, raw material delivery pipelines in cement plants, and ash removal pipelines in power plants.
